Basil is a highly fragrant plant whose leaves are used as a seasoning herb for many different types of foods. Basil has an initial peppery flavour that evolves into a slightly sweet flavour delicate menthol aroma.
Dried basil can be used in a number of recipes from pasta sauces, dips, marinades and salad dressing. It is a great substitute to fresh basil which is only available during the summer months.
